Glaziers Hall’s £2.5m transformation unveiled

Glaziers Hall has officially reopened after an extensive £2.5m refurbishment. Considered to be one of London’s leading conference and events venues, the Grade II-listed building has seen specialist heritage architects LYN Atelier and Demant Cole Design expand its contemporary interior and showcase its stunning external features.

The renovations have increased the venue’s floor space by 33%, adding two beautifully-decorated riverside rooms with unparalleled views across the Thames and an entirely new basement level. The underground space incorporates three of London Bridge’s Georgian arches, faithfully restored by the architects and is equipped with a cutting-edge AV system.

By the end of the year, a bespoke wine cellar – designed by industry-leading Sorrells Custom Wine Cellars – that is being created in the venue’s previously unused basement will also be opened. This will position Glaziers Hall as one of the most authentic and unique locations in the UK, as well as a premier location for wine tasting events and parties.

As event professionals look for venues that can deliver unique experiences to guests, food and drink continues to play a pivotal role in the decision making process. The revamped Glaziers Hall will provide an impressive array of bespoke options, with its chefs taking advantage of the vast array of local sourced produce available Borough Market.

The venue has previously played host to London Fashion Week and became the House of Switzerland during London 2012 Olympics. Eagle-eyed Bridget Jones fans will also have spotted the River Room in the recent Hollywood blockbuster Bridget Jones’ Baby. Following its impressive refurbishment, the venue has seen significant increase in bookings for the remainder of 2017 and in 2018, reaffirming its status as a leading commercial events venue right here in Bankside.
