Located just off Blackfriars Road, SAMA is set within two Victorian rail viaducts and covers a vast 6000 square feet of event space across two floors. Whilst the venue only opened in October of last year, it has already established itself as a sought-after choice for hosting corporate parties.
This month, SAMA was announced as the winner of ‘Best All in One Venue’ at the Design My Night Awards. Earning such an accolade within six months of opening is no mean feat, so what makes the venue such a popular ‘all-rounder’ with event bookers? Find out below…
An unconventional space
A popular spot for Bankside’s local workers, SAMA Bankside is first and foremost a bar and dining space however it is available for exclusive and semi-private hire. With robust rustic high ceilings, the venue is connected and subdivided with a mezzanine floor that is surrounded by bold modern art pieces.
The upper floor has plenty of natural daylight and features two arches opening out into one larger space where the main bar is situated. The arches can be used independently of each other if required and can accommodate up to 150 standing or 70 seated. Tucked just around the corner from the main bar is the upper arch area – a semi-private space with a comfy curved pink booth adding a pop of colour.
Downstairs, the lower floor features its own bar and is an especially spacious area for parties. There’s also a private room with glass doors which is perfect for more intimate gatherings – or even meetings, workshops and private dinners. There’s also a variety of several cosy soft-touch booths and chesterfield sofas to suit your group size.
