Spark creativity with The Agora meeting room at Hilton Bankside

Your typical meeting room is not often a space that inspires creativity. With more people working flexibly than ever, businesses (and venues) are having to rethink traditional meeting set-ups.

This shines a light on an increasing demand for design-led spaces that bring something more than basic functionality. Bankside comprises of an abundance of creative industries and the local need for more creative spaces has recently come to the fore.

Earlier this year, Hilton Bankside collaborated with Bompas & Parr, a multi-sensory experience design studio and together they created The Agora. Greek for ‘gathering place’, The Agora breaks the mould from Hilton Bankside’s typical meeting room look and feel.

What’s behind the design?

The Agora features plush green velvet chairs and walls made from natural materials in earthy tones to make you feel comfortable and warm, with one wall disguising hidden talents – it can be used as a white board or pin board, perfect for brainstorming, doodling and presenting ideas.

The central table seats up to 14 people and resembles a map of Bankside. There’s also a 75-inch interactive screen which plays a video art installation from London-based artist Doug Foster featuring local landmarks. This can be used for seamless, wireless connection and communication directly to your devices.

On top of the physical design, the room is packed with multi-sensory features, chosen based on the science and psychology of boosting human productivity and creativity. Mood-improving lighting installations, stimulating bursts of aromatic air and brain power-boosting refreshments are just some of the details you will experience…

If the ideas just aren’t coming, hit the enticing “press for creativity” button which, when pressed, bursts the room with aromatic  scented air of lemon, cinnamon or peppermint to reinvigorate those inside.
